The heart locket story

The heart locket story goes back so many years. When my boys, Timothy and Jeremy, were real little, oh, 5 and 3 years old, their daddy took them to the store to buy me a Mother's Day gift. It was the first time that I can remember they helped pick out a gift for me. I was so surprised. The little heart locket necklace was their final choice, I'm sure, with their daddy's help directing their decision. Rex had already given me the little frame which you see contains photos of my sons! Timmy is on the right and Jeremy on the left. Oh, also, Rex also put the photos of them in the locket.
Over the years, we've done a lot of moving but I've managed to hang on to some treasured items, including these things. I plan to create a book off this blog of my treasured items and the history of them. I wish that I had a better memory for many of the things my boys have given me over the years or that I've collected. Hopefully, this blog will jog some of those memories to the forefront of my cluttered mind. My boys will be 24 and 21 this December. It hardly seems like so many years ago when I first held them after birth. I love you boys!

Here's a photo showing their very vintage diaper pins.
Does anyone use diaper pins these days?

Here's the snowflake charm necklace my husband gave me for Christmas a few years ago. Actually, he gave it to me twice. The first time it had a beautiful chain that I so loved. One day while reporting on a huge youth event at our local Simmons Center facility, I realized the necklace had disappeared from its place around my neck. I never did find it and was so sad over that. About a year later, Rex gave me another charm identical, but couldn't find the same chain. I need to get a chain so I can wear it again. Rex and I can remember many winters in snowy mountain regions, so the snowflake is perfect!

Here's possibly one of a kind heart necklace. It's very dimensional. My sister gave it to me when I was, oh, maybe 7 years old? It was my very favorite necklace to wear when I was growing up.

And here's a ring she gave me also when I was around that same age. I really am surprised that I still have these things after all these years.

My photo
I like the rain and I like the fog. The smell of fresh fruit is delightful. Flowers or candy? Flowers!! wild ones, mixed bouquets, doesn't have to be fancy. Water choices these days: Iceland and SmartWater. I actually like being a grandma, yet I don't feel "grandma" age, go figure! Last time I checked, I think I was holding at 30, yes, 30 not 29! My husband IS my best friend. My kids keep me laughing. My grandchildren are a joy. My sister is my best friend. (Who says you can only have 1?!) Now for the stuff you'd expect: Photographer. Writer. Adventurer. Creative. Fun.
